Deity by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Deity (Covenant, #3)
Add to Goodreads
History is on repeat, and things didn’t go so well the last time.
Alexandria isn’t sure she’s going to make it to her eighteenth birthday–to her Awakening. A long-forgotten, fanatical order is out to kill her, and if the Council ever discovers what she did in the Catskills, she’s a goner… and so is Aiden.
If that’s not freaky enough, whenever Alex and Seth spend time “training”–which really is just Seth’s code word for some up-close and personal one-on-one time–she ends up with another mark of the Apollyon, which brings her one step closer to Awakening ahead of schedule. Awesome.
But as her birthday draws near, her entire world shatters with a startling revelation and she’s caught between love and Fate. One will do anything to protect her. One has been lying to her since the beginning. Once the gods have revealed themselves, unleashing their wrath, lives will be irrevocably changed… and destroyed.
Those left standing will discover if love is truly greater than Fate…

My thoughts

OH.MY.GOSH. This book was just amazing! I was blown away by it. I think it's the best in the series so far. So much happened - and a lot I hadn't seen coming. All the questions from Half-blood and Pure were finally answered, and everything just came together. I was glued to the pages, and when I didn't read (it happened) I couldn't stop thinking about it. I think I went through all emotions possible, and that ending.. cliffhanger much?!
Alex has grown and become more mature. She doesn't have that many "knee-jerk reactions", which I honestly think was nice, because she sometimes did the most stupid and reckless things when she wasn't thinking. I really liked her in this one.
There was a lot more of Aiden in this book. Yay! If Pure was Seth's book, this is definitely Aiden's. And while I loved him before, it's nothing to now - he is just perfect and totally swoon-worthy! We also get to see more sides to him, which I loved.
And Seth? I hate him, and that's all I'm going to say.
When you've read Deity be sure to have Elixir (Aiden's novella) nearby, because you'll want to throw youself at it from the moment you've read the last word of Deity. I certainly did.
Well, I don't think I'll be say that much more about Deity, because it's actually really hard to review books that I love. Know the feeling? I don't think I'll be able to do it justice, and some books just need to experienced - Deity is one of those. All I can say is well done JLA. Well done. Can I have Apollyon now?!
